LOCATION

Czar Lisbon Hotel is conveniently located on the main road of Av. Almirante Reis, and is only a 20-minute walk from the city center. It is also located about a 15-minute drive from the airport. Usually, the standard taxi price from Lisbon international airport to any central hotel is around €35.

If you prefer to use public transport to get around Lisbon, there is a metro station only 300 meters away from the hotel. There are also many buses and trams that pass the hotel, so you can find plenty of bus stops!

On the main road of Av. Almirante Reis, you will find many good restaurants, food supermarkets, pharmacies, cafes, and much more! The nearest supermarket is less than 5 minutes away! Some of the best supermarkets in the area are Pingo Doce Avenida Almirante Reis, Continente Bom Dia Carlos Mardel, and Continente Bom Dia Rua da Palma – which we liked the most since it was on the way to the city center!

One of my favorite things about the location is that if you want to go out for food, you will never have to walk far to find a good place to eat. There are so many great restaurants in the area! I highly recommend Pizzaria Don Gino! However, if you want to learn more about where to eat in Lisbon, make sure to check out Where To Eat In Lisbon & Popular Portuguese Food Guide.

Overall, I found the location to be extremely convenient and close to everything you need.

CHECK-IN

Check-in is open from 15.00 while check-out is at 12.00. However, as our flight was very early in the morning, we arrived at the hotel just before noon. We were warmly greeted by the receptionist who offered to store our bags in a safe storage room until the room was ready. The hotel was extremely busy at this time of the year (December) and all the rooms were fully booked, therefore there were no rooms ready before 3 o’clock. The receptionist was very apologetic and did his best to get us a room as soon as possible! In the meantime, we decided to explore the neighborhood.

At 3 o’clock our room was ready and all the paperwork was quickly processed. We both received one key card each and soon made our way to the room.

ROOMS

I booked a standard double room and I was pleasantly surprised! The room felt very cozy and clean. Although it wasn’t the most spacious room, it was enough for two people. The double bed felt more like a king-sized bed and it was extremely comfortable! The room was located on the 3rd floor of the hotel, there was a bit of noise coming from the main road, but nothing too major! Personally, the busy road didn’t bother me at all. However, If you prefer a quieter room, you can request one on the other side of the hotel, away from the road!

In the room, there was a tv, a nice size desk, a coffee maker, a free bottle of water, an electronic code safe, and a mini-fridge.

Everything in the room felt very clean and fresh, I could not fault anything. Given it’s a standard double room, I thought the amenities were very good for the room, especially the mini fridge and the coffee maker! It also had black-out curtains, air-conditioning, tv channels in different languages (including English), and daily housekeeping.

The bathroom once again was very clean and had everything you need – clean towels, shampoo, soap, body wash, and lotion. It also had a hairdryer and a plug, which I always look for in any bathroom when I travel! There is nothing worse than having no hair dryer in the bathroom for us ladies with long or thick hair, or a plug to plug in our hair straighteners! 😀

Other rooms you can book: single room, double room, triple room, twin room, superior twin room, superior double room, superior triple room, and romantic room. See more details here.

BREAKFAST & DINING

Breakfast starts from 7.00 to 10.30. Usually, the restaurant gets busier around 9.00 and onwards. However, there are sufficient seating and food for everyone, regardless of what time you go. The restaurant had a wide choice of continental food to suit everyone. You can get anything from scrambled eggs, a choice of ham and salami, fruits and yogurt, and breakfast cereal, to pastries, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and much more! I found the breakfast very fresh and delicious and I enjoyed the variety of food. I was especially impressed with the fastest coffee maker on earth 😀 ! It took about 2 seconds for the coffee to come out, and it was perfect!

I also loved the fact that every morning there was something slightly different being served, one morning you might have a different pastry or other options for fried food. I found that to be great, so you don’t get bored of the same food, especially if you’re staying in the hotel for a longer period.

You can also enjoy lunch and dinner at the restaurant, along with an all-day bar!

SERVICE & FACILITIES

Some of the main facilities and services provided by the Czar Lisbon Hotel are free-wifi in all the rooms, daily housekeeping, safe luggage storage, airport transfers, a car park (charges apply), and a fitness center on-site! The receptionists are more than happy to assist you in booking transfers and tours. You can also find plenty of leaflets for various tours and maps to get your trip started!

If you are traveling for business, it is possible to book a meeting room. The hotel also caters special packages for digital nomads with exclusive benefits. You can benefit from highspeed wifi, 10% off meals, gym access, and daily use for the meeting room. To find out more, read here!
