From the moment we stepped in, this hotel truly exceeded all of our expectations. This hotel is a true discovery in the midst of the stunning mountains of Agerola, Italy. I can confidently say, this must be one of our favorite hotels we have stayed in. If you want to know why, then keep on reading!

LOCATION
Agerola is a small town in the hills of the Amalfi Coast, Italy. Here you will find some of the best views of the coast from above! Agerola is about 16 km from Amalfi town and can be reached by public bus in about 40-50 minutes. However, if you rent a car, you will need less time to get around.
There are two buses that run daily between the coast and the hills. The shuttle bus starts at 07:30 to Amalfi, while the last bus returns to Agerola at 19:30. The shuttle bus costs €3.00 for the one-way trip. In the meantime, there is also a public bus that goes to Amalfi from 6.00 am with the last bus to Agerola at 10.00 pm. The public bus costs €2.20 for one way. Tickets can be purchased on-board leaving from the hotel, meanwhile departing Amalfi, you need to purchase a ticket in advance in any of the small ‘tobacco shops’.
TIP:
Going from Amalfi town to Agerola bus – during peak season, the buses can get very busy and packed, so make sure you are at the bus stop at least 15 minutes beforehand for a chance to get a seat! On the bright side, Hotel Le Rocce is the first stop from Agerola, so you don’t have to worry about getting a seat!
Lastly, be prepared for narrow, bendy roads along the edge of the hills!
What makes this place perfect is not only the best views, but also the best price for accommodation ;)! Agerola is one of the few budget places from which you can explore the Amalfi Coast. Not only do you pay less, but you also get your money’s worth. Hotel Le Rocce is an excellent example.
Hotel Le Rocce is perfectly located on the edge of a hill with unobstructed views of the coast. Exploring the different areas of this charming hotel, you will soon discover many different places where you can relax and admire the view!
Just 100 meters from the hotel, you’ll find a small grocery store called Mr. O’Pagliett. Here you can buy fresh fruit, water, yogurt and some other basic bits. If you continue up the hill, you can visit a variety of local restaurants and shops in the charming town of Agerola.
Restaurant recommendations: La Selva – (pizza, seafood, nice desserts), Belvedere – ( good pizza), Angolo dei Sapori (pizza, pasta, seafood etc.)

Check-in time is at 3:00 pm and check-out time is at 10:00 am. Other times can be requested depending on availability.
The first thing we noticed at this hotel was the outstanding customer service. Upon arrival, you are immediately greeted and taken care of by the fantastic staff at this family-run hotel! Baldassare, the general manager, and Imma, the receptionist, are a true delight! They will do everything to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible! Although, I must say all the staff members are amazing and professional at this hotel!
You will be provided with all the necessary information such as pool opening hours, on-site restaurant facilities, breakfast times, local restaurant recommendations, best tours, transportation, and anything else you might need.
Once you receive a key card, Imma will show you around and give you a tour of your room to make sure you have full use of all the facilities and amenities!
ROOMS
At Hotel Le Rocce it’s hard to get a ‘bad’ room, all rooms are spotless, pleasant and bright! During our stay we chose a standard double room. However, upon arrival, we were happy to get a triple room with some views of the pool. Although we didn’t need the extra bed, it was nice to have the extra space.
The room was very clean and spotless. The room looked bright and inviting. It was a nice mix of traditional Italian and modern elements. Most importantly, the bed was large and very comfortable! There is a power outlet, nightstand and reading lamp on each side of the bed.
We were also very impressed with the high-tech facilities! Each room is equipped with a tablet where you can get all the important information about the hotel, such as opening hours of the pool, menu of the restaurant, bus schedules and much more! It was very convenient to have all the information right at our fingertips. On the other side of the room is a small iPad, with which you can take advantage of ‘Alexa’!
Other amenities in the room include a minifridge stacked with refreshments (priced individually), a secure safe, a tv, a wardrobe, and air conditioning.
If you need some extra space for getting ready or doing some light work, you can use the desk provided along with some tea and coffee, or wine 😉
Last but not least, we loved the bathroom! What made it cooler than any other bathroom out there were the LED lights! Being able to control the light colors in the shower was very soothing and almost made you feel like you were in a spa. In fact, I liked it so much that I decided to install them in my own bathroom sooner or later :D.
For toiletries, you’ll find shower gel, shampoo, shower caps, fresh towels, and a hair dryer.
If you are looking for a more deluxe experience, you can choose from: King Room With Spa Bath, Deluxe Room with Seaview and balcony, or Superior King Room. Rooms facing the sea view truly have incredible views! However, as I mentioned before, you can’t go wrong with any of the rooms at Hotel Le Rocce!
BREAKFAST & DINNING
Breakfast begins at 7:30 am and lasts until 10:00 am. The food selection is varied, ranging from continental breakfast to Italian snacks and desserts. Much of the food is locally sourced and tastes delicious and fresh. I especially liked the mozzarella cheese, mixed juice, and fresh fruit! However, I must say that the pastries were also top-notch, with many different pies, cakes, and buns each day. We really enjoyed the breakfast at this hotel. It was definitely one of the best breakfast buffets we have ever had, not to mention the beautiful views that come with it!
A big thank you also goes out to the fantastic hotel manager Salvatore who goes out of his way every day to put a smile on everyone’s face! He is a true gentleman and does everything he can to make sure you have a wonderful breakfast.
At Hotel Le Rocce, you can also enjoy a delicious dinner at the stunning Balthazar Restaurant. Usually, the restaurant is available from 7.30pm, like most restaurants around the area. However, make sure to reserve a time slot in advance at the reception, as it can quickly get busy!
SERVICE & FACILITIES
This hotel has nice private parking if you rent a car. For easy access, you will find lifts across the hotel. There is also a laundry service on request. Meanwhile, you can enjoy the common areas of the hotel such as the lobby long bar, and the beautiful balcony garden with panoramic views.
But the best part of course is the stunning outdoor swimming pool! It is open daily from 10:00 am to about 6:30 pm. It is beautifully designed and gives a sense of tranquility and luxury. Along the pool, you will find comfortable sun loungers with umbrellas and a lounge bar service. Here you can really enjoy your holiday life!

On a side note, this hotel was fully refurbished less than 2 years ago, so everything feels brand new and modern!
FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall, we had an amazing and comfortable stay at Hotel Le Rocce. From the very first minute Baldassare and Imma greeted us with warmth and smiles on their face. The customer service at this hotel is absolutely outstanding, it is of the highest level. We have never felt so welcomed and cared for in any hotel we have ever stayed in – and there are many!… Imma helped us with so many different questions, from restaurant recommendations to booking our airport transfer to an unexpected pharmacy visit! Every single staff member at this hotel is a pleasure to deal with.
Everything in this hotel feels spotless and well-maintained. You often see staff constantly working in the hotel and interacting with guests. One of the things that really amazed us was the fact that the General Manager came to greet us every morning! It makes you feel like you are part of the family.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit the Amalfi Coast or other nearby areas. I can promise you, you will have a fabulous stay, and if anything, you’ll only leave wanting to return shortly after! 😉
